Frequently Asked Questions (2024)

Where’s my letter?

It’s in the queue somewhere. Due to this blog’s popularity and the limited number of letters posted a day, it can take weeks to months to see your questions answered. The letters often show the dates it was sent, so if you’re able to remember the date you sent your letter, you can follow up on when yours will be answered based on the date the latest letter was answered.

I waited but I still never saw my letter! I didn’t break the rules, so why?

Chances are it was a repeat, a link or picture was broken, or we couldn’t figure out what you were saying. It could’ve been too risque for a T-rated blog that a warning couldn’t fix. It could have also could have disappeared or deleted by accident (it doesn’t happen often, but mistakes do happen). We do try to answer letters the best we can. Unless we have blacklisted your letters from being answered (which rarely happens but we will make it public if we do), it was either unanswerable or we deleted the letters by accident.

Why do I need to submit my email address?

You don’t. Tumblr just wants it because it’s dumb. You can throw in anything to fool it, and that’s fine.

Where can I find >specific letter<?

If it’s your letter, we will tag your username if you have an account. You can also try to search the letter using the character tags. So many letters have been answered since 2011, so it’s like finding a needle in a haystack for us too. However, if you remember the tags and date it was posted, you may have a better chance at finding it with the search engine.

Do you do sprite requests?

As a rule, no. Sometimes a prompt will tickle the fancy of whichever one of us is doing the answering, but we simply don’t have the extra time to make bonus material for everyone who asks.

How many people run this site?

There are four of us at the moment – Chief Mod Edgeworth, Mod Justice, Mod Gregson and Mod Zieks! Co-Mod does help out sometimes. There was an administrator before us and when she got too busy to handle it alone, she sought help. The Mod was the lucky guy chosen and, shortly after he was brought on, she left him in charge. He later chose someone to run the blog alongside him, and she brought along a friend of hers as well – they dubbed themselves Modthorne and the Co-Mod, respectively.

The Mod and Modthorne have since parted ways. We still have contact with Modthorne and Co-Mod helps from time to time, but as far as I know, The Mod hasn’t been around in years.

What’s your name? Where are you from? What do you look like? What’s your sexual orientation?

We will not be answering personal questions about ourselves. We prefer our anonymity as it not only prevents internet stalkers, but also allows us to freely answer letters without being self-conscious or worrying about anything here being associated with our real lives. Many of us even prefer our genders, sexual oriantation, personal accounts, names, looks and other things to be anonymous too. Chief Mod Edgeworth has already revealed to be female outside of the blog, but they and all of the other mods prefer to keep their anonymity.

How did you first get into Ace Attorney?

For the Mod, that happened back whenProfessor Layton vs. Phoenix Wrightwas announced. The internet was absolutely bouncing off the walls and he, not having played either series, felt left out. So he gave the first game of each a chance and, long story short, he started running a blog devoted to Ace Attorney.

For the Co-Mod, it happened when he found a comic referencing Ace Attorney in the web comic series, Brawl in the Family. His curiosity led him to check out the YouTube videos of the first game, which led him to buy all three games in the trilogy, etc.

For Chief Mod Edgeworth, they heard about Ace Attorney through Danganronpa and bought the trilogy to check it out. They got hooked to the game, found this blog, eventually auditioned, now here they are.

Who’s your favorite character?

The Mod is a huge Maya fan, as well as Phoenix himself. Godot is one of his favorites also. His favorite minor characters are Adrian Andrews and Rhoda Teneiro.

The Co-Mod is a fan of Athena’s, but loves the other main characters as well, Edgeworth especially. His favorite minor characters are Iris and Tsukasa Oyashiki (Katherine Hall).

Chief Mod Edgeworth’s favorite characters are Miles Edgeworth and Kazuma Asogi. They like other characters too such as Kay Faraday, Trucy Wright, and Phoenix as well, but Edgeworth and Kazuma are their favorite.

Do you have any favorite pairings?

The Mod has a big soft spot for Phoenix/Maya, but otherwise he doesn’t. He prefers the relationships as they’re displayed on screen.

The Co-Mod feels the same as the Mod about Phoenix/Maya, but wouldn’t be too unhappy (or surprised) if Apollo/Athena became a reality somewhere down the road.

Chief Mod Edgeworth loves Wrightworth, AsoRyuu and BaroAso. However, as far as canon ships go, Godot/Mia and maybe Phoenix/Iris would be the way to go. Being that shipping is not the biggest factor of Ace Attorney, the Chief prefers shipping to not influence canon.

In all cases, letters will be answered without fan pairings taken into consideration.
