James G. Level Contributor. I am travelling to Melbourne in 2 weeks with a 7 year old and am considering staying at either the Crown Metropol or Crown Promenade as we'd like an indoor pool and great location.
I'm sure KVE will see your post and give his normal excellent advice. But in terms of location, they are right next door to each other in Southbank.
Both are very well located for any tourist. I have stayed twice at the Crown Promenade and loved it but I do believe the pool is nicer at the Metropol.
I would recommend Crown Promenade over Crown Metropol. Although both are quite similar in terms of facilities and room sizes 38sqm based on the Corner King at the Promenade and Luxe Rooms at The Metropol , the furnishing is distinctly more warmer and softer at The Promenade.
I enjoy the mezzanine level conference centre walkway access, directly to both complexes casino and entertainment.
Ive stayed at the Crown Metropol and about to stay again at the end of the year. The Pool at Metropol is fabulous and has great views over the city.
You can walk from Metropol through to the other Crown hotels with plenty of shopping and restaurants.
Short walk to Tram and never found it a problem. Another vote for the Crown Metropol indoor pool And several of you have said you have stayed at all 3.
Ummm so is the Promenade. Both hotels have a covered aerial walkway connecting the at different points to the Crown complex. Skip to main content.

Ask a question. See All Melbourne Conversations. Nice restaurant for Christmas dinner? Am I the only person who puts margerine on toast?.
If you like to spend lots of money you would be better of at the langham or grand hyatt. Though location is grea. I was very disappointed to read of your recent experience at the Hotel.
While grateful for your review and happy to see you enjoyed the location and had a good initial impression of the property, I was very concerned to read of the many service mishaps that you experienced.
As the many other positive reviews on Trip Advisor suggest, this is not typical at all of the service that we offer and I am genuinely sorry to read of your experience.
Rest assured, each and every point of your review is being followed up with the relevant management for attention. Sincerely Shaun D'Cruz General Manager Crown Towers.
The hotel is gorgeous! Probably the most beautiful in Australia talking about the hotel, not the views Service is very very poor.
Stayed for 3 nights with my wife, and we're Melbourne locals. Our room was only turned down once in the 3 nights.
We ate twice at Nobu during our stay and this would have come in handy. I brought up with the staff upon checkout and the lady said it wasn't their policy to inform us of the coupon they put in.
So why put it in if hotel guests aren't going to be made aware of it? The pool was full of screaming children, which I honestly don't blame the hotel for.
I just wouldn't recommend their pool to a couple looking to relax. We wanted to use their Spa, but because my wife is in her third trimester, the Spa only offers an express pedi-cure for pregnant women If we stay in town again, we'll try the Grand Hyatt next time.
TV channels were better quality than their rental service. Thank you for your review after your recent stay with us. While I was delighted to read that you consider us the most beautiful hotel in Australia, it was disappointing to see that we did not meet your expectations on this occasion.
I would welcome the opportunity to discuss your feedback in more detail. If you're amenable, please feel free to contact me on 03 Enjoyed my 2 night stay at The Crown Towers however was extremely disappointed that there was no free wifi within rooms.
I was prepared to become a member of the Crown Towers Group which is in fact free and entitles you to free wifi. However because this was a business trip and my room was under someone else's name I was unable to sign up.
One of the lady's at the desk was helpful and said she would give me complimentary wifi access as it was not my fault that my room wasn't booked under my name which was nice, until I realised she hadn't even done so and I therefore had to pay.
Nonetheless, the rooms were nice and fairly modern with an extremely comfortable bed which ensures a good nights sleep. Dear Lauren M, Thank you for your feedback after your recent stay.
It was a pleasure to read that you enjoyed the room and found the bed to be extremely comfortable. That said, I was disappointed to read of your wi-fi experience as it appears there may have been some miscommunication; we certainly do offer complimentary wi-fi throughout the property and in fact, through most areas of the complex.
We do hope to welcome you back and and again I do apologise for the confusion. Yours sincerely Shaun D'Cruz General Manager.
From the pre-arrival communications with the concierge to our departure, everything was handled extremely well.
When we saw how young the front desk staff were, we were half expecting a bunch of staff who didn't know what they were doing but we could not be more wrong - the staff handled our check-in and check-out with professionalism, energy and you really do get a sense that they enjoyed serving you.
We stayed in a Club Suite which was spacious, very high tech and the amenities were top notch. My husband enjoyed the casino and I enjoyed the pool with my two children.
I initially had great reservations about staying here with my two young kids but I am really glad we chose to stay here compared to what I would have booked - my friend who was also travelling with kids stayed at the Grand Hyatt and it was really bog-standard and the room was dark and small.
